Can I read Chapter 7: Interpolation on a piecewise-uniform grid on EtoBox?
Chapter 7: Interpolation on a piecewise-uniform grid is a book available to read on EtoBox.
What is Chapter 7: Interpolation on a piecewise-uniform grid about?
In piecewise-polynomial interpolation, the graph of a function is broken into small segments, and each is interpolated by a low-degree polynomial. Figure 7.1 contains an example of a piecewise-linear interpolant. As the graph suggests, even straight-line segments can provide a reasonably good fit if enough segments are used.
