About this document
Climate Change Impact on Maulino Forests by Robin Browaldh Carracedo is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Climate change is predicted to have largely negative effects on Maulino forests in central Chile. Niche modeling was used to assess the potential impacts on dominant tree and fern species. The results showed that most tree species, including all Nothofagus species and half of co-dominant trees, are expected to experience a reduction in suitable habitat. In contrast, all ground fern species may see an increase. Three currently threatened tree species may be hardest hit with a loss of over 30% of habitat. Ove
