The proposed method enhances existing set-theoretic FDI techniques by combining the strengths of interval observers and invariant sets, allowing for fault detection and isolation with less conservative conditions. An example of a continuous stirred-tank reactor (CSTR) demonstrates the effectiveness of the approach.
