What is Clinical Implications of The Margin Cytology Findings and Margin 2011 about?

This study investigates the clinical implications of margin cytology findings and the margin/tumor size ratio (M/T) in patients who underwent pulmonary wedge resection for peripheral non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Results indicate that both M/T and margin cytology are significant predictors of cancer recurrence and survival, with a 5-year survival rate of 54.2% for M/T < 1 and 84.6% for M/T ≥ 1. The findings suggest that achieving a negative malignant margin is crucial for improving long-term outcomes
