This study investigates the predictive value of pulse pressure variation (PPV) for fluid responsiveness during acute pulmonary hypertension induced by endotoxemia in pigs. Results indicate that PPV does not reliably predict fluid responsiveness, particularly before hemorrhage, with a marginal improvement in predictive value after hemorrhage. In contrast, PPV was a significant predictor of fluid responsiveness in control animals without endotoxemia.
