About this document
Microbial Degradation of Carbendazim by Dipankar Patra is a document available to read on EtoBox.
A bacterial consortium was obtained from soil samples collected from Japanese paddy fields that was able to simultaneously degrade the fungicide carbendazim and the herbicide 2,4-D. This consortium was enriched in a continuously fed glass column bioreactor containing both pesticides. The consortium was able to completely degrade up to 100 μM carbendazim and 3 mM 2,4-D within 36 and 24 hours, respectively, in batch cultures. Immobilizing the consortium on a polyester support enhanced its ability to degrade t
