About this document
Endocrine Physiology Overview by Nabila Bahar is a document available to read on EtoBox.
The pituitary gland is located at the base of the brain and is made up of the anterior and posterior lobes. The anterior lobe contains cells that secrete hormones like growth hormone, prolactin, and thyroid/adrenal stimulating hormones. The posterior lobe secretes vasopressin and oxytocin which are produced in the hypothalamus. These hormones regulate processes like growth, metabolism, fluid balance, reproduction and lactation. The thyroid gland is located in the neck and secretes hormones regulated by TSH
