A detailed study of the influence of an anionic surfactant (sodium dodecyl sulfate, SDS) on the fluorescence properties of kinetin with NaHSO, at pH 1.4-2.4 (X(ex) = 325 nm, X(em) = 500 nm) has been undertaken. In the presence of SDS, the fluorescence intensity is 9.5 times greater that in its absence. The detection limit for kinetin is 0.21 ng ml-', and the calibration graph is linear over the range of 0.214000 ng ml-'.
