The Election Commission of India announced the dates for the 2022 General Elections in Punjab, originally setting the poll date for February 14th. However, several representations noted that holding the election then would deprive many voters from voting as they travel for a religious celebration on February 16th. As a result, the Commission rescheduled the election dates, moving the poll to February 20th.
