Eva Kor, a Holocaust survivor and advocate for forgiveness, was born on January 31, 1934, in Romania and died on July 4, 2019, in Poland. She and her twin sister were subjected to brutal experiments at Auschwitz by Josef Mengele, and later founded CANDLES, Inc. to support other survivors, promoting forgiveness as a means of self-healing despite facing criticism from some in the survivor community.
