What is Revitalizing Yogyakarta about?

The Baluwarti, an 18th-century fortified wall in Yogyakarta, serves as a cultural and spiritual boundary rather than just a military defense. Urban pressures and heritage policies threaten its identity, leading to the displacement of communities integral to its history. The proposal advocates for reinterpreting Baluwarti as a dynamic cultural medium that fosters dialogue between past, present, and future, rather than restoring it solely to its original defensive function.
