About this document

Fall of the Sassanian Empire Explained by twostedfury01 is a document available to read on EtoBox.

The Sassanian Empire faced a devastating defeat when General Rustam was killed during a sandstorm, leading to the loss of Iraq and the fall of Ctesiphon to Rashidun forces. Despite attempts to regroup under Yazdegerd III, the Sassanian army was defeated at the Battle of Nahavand, and the last king was ultimately murdered, ending resistance to the Muslim advance. The Rashidun Empire expanded significantly, reaching as far as Sindh in present-day Pakistan by 653 CE.
