What is Philippine Currency Management Overview about?

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is solely authorized by law to issue currency in the Philippines. It determines the annual volume of notes and coins to be issued based on estimated currency demand and other economic indicators. Currency is issued to the public through banks withdrawing from the BSP. As of 2017, there were over 4 billion banknotes valued at over 1 trillion pesos and over 28 billion coins valued at over 30 billion pesos in circulation.
