What is Nigeria about?

Nigeria has been firmly committed to the goals of the NPT for decades, as demonstrated by its early ratification and support for nuclear weapon free zones. Nigeria calls on all states to fulfill their obligations under the NPT and support practical interim steps to reduce nuclear stockpiles. As a non-nuclear state seeking nuclear technology for development, Nigeria hopes the conference will endorse measures allowing access to nuclear energy while strengthening nonproliferation safeguards.
