What is Adaptive Noise Reduction for Images about?

This paper presents a new adaptive noise reduction scheme for effectively removing salt and pepper noise from images, achieving successful results even at noise densities as high as 90%. The method employs Mean Absolute Gradient (MAG) for noise detection, followed by a median-based noise reduction process and directional filtering to enhance image quality. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme outperforms existing algorithms in both quantitative measures and visual quality of restored im
