This document describes using genetic algorithms to optimize antenna array patterns. Specifically: 1) Genetic algorithms were applied to optimize uniformly null-filled patterns for linear arrays with 20, 40, 60, and 100 elements. The genetic algorithm approach found optimal solutions much faster than an exhaustive search. 2) The genetic algorithm was also used to search for the optimal null-filling topography by making small perturbations to the imaginary parts of the roots that define the array pattern.
