What is Score Reporting: Design and Evaluation Methods Informed by Research about?
Score reporting research has gained increased momentum in the last decade. The focus of this research has been around two central areas: audience specificity and stakeholder interpretation and use. In this article, I first provide a broad overview of score reporting research centered around these two themes. Then, I provide an overview of the iterative multistep framework for score report design and provide a comprehensive toolkit of methods for evaluating score reports within each step of the framework. I conclude by suggesting areas for future research, particularly surrounding the design and development of interactive reporting systems.
