The turbine at the Tulsyan NEC Power Limited power plant in Gummipoondi tripped on April 16, 2015 at 10:40 hours due to a failure of the SS-2 jumper in the external electricity board, which also caused the OG Unit-1 breaker to trip due to overcurrent. The plant was restarted and resynchronized at 14:40 hours after resolving issues with the DC supply to the 86 B1, B2 relay and the closing circuit MCB in the WTP 6.6KV panel.
