Foundries produce castings by pouring molten metal into molds containing cores to create hollow internal sections. Once the metal cools and solidifies, the casting is removed from the mold and undergoes cleaning and finishing techniques. The foundry process is similar to baking a cake, where a liquid mixture is poured into a mold and solidifies, then is unmold and decorated, just as castings are finished after mold removal.
