The study investigates the aneugenic effects of rotenone, a pesticide used in aquaculture, on Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) using the micronucleus test and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH). Results indicated that exposure to low doses of rotenone significantly increased the formation of micronuclei, suggesting its mutagenic potential and impairment of mitotic spindle function.
