About this document

Hymenolepis nana Case Study Analysis by Dr Commissioner is a document available to read on EtoBox.

A 3-year-old boy from the Philippines presented with anemia, abdominal pain, and other symptoms and was found to have Hymenolepis nana eggs in his stool. Diagnostic tests included fecal analysis using Kato-Katz technique which identified round clay-colored eggs measuring 30-47 micrometers, and bloodwork showing iron deficiency and infection. The boy was given praziquantel treatment and follow-up stool examination was recommended to check parasite clearance.
