This study evaluated the effects of different surface mulches and water storage treatments on newly planted blueberry growth. Sawdust mulch led to significantly taller blueberry plants with more stems over 40cm compared to compost or weed mat mulches. Sawdust mulch also significantly reduced weed coverage. While the weed mat prevented weeds from the covered area, weeds were able to grow over the mat.
