What is Ildefonso Santos Jr.: Paco Park Design about?
The Paco Park (Cemetery) in Manila was originally built in 1807 as a cemetery for rich and influential people outside the city walls. It was designed by Maestro de Obras Nicolas Ruiz in a concentric circular wall formation. In the 1960s, landscape architect Ildefonso "IP" Santos turned the cemetery into Paco Park, combining ancient and modern architectural styles. The park was formally declared a National Park in 1966.
