This study retrospectively reviewed clinical information and pathology slides from 68 adult patients with Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) seen at Mayo Clinic between 1992 and 2011. The study found that patients over 40 years old who had leukocytoclastic vasculitis without eosinophils on skin biopsy had a significantly higher rate of renal involvement compared to those without both features.
