What is On and Off Coil Temperature Calculations about?
The cooling unit is designed to supply air at 25°C/18°C to a sealed 5mX5mX3m room. The off coil temperature is calculated to be 10.9°C. As the cooled air mixes with the room air, the room temperature will gradually reduce until it reaches the off coil temperature of 10.9°C. Calculating the room as a control volume and applying an energy balance, it is determined that it will take approximately 8 minutes for the room temperature to equalize to the off coil temperature.
