What is COP 26 and COP 28 about?

COP 26, held in Glasgow in 2021, resulted in the Glasgow Climate Pact, commitments to climate finance, and a Global Methane Pledge. COP 27, held in Egypt in 2022, established a Loss and Damage fund for vulnerable countries and launched the Sharm El-Sheikh Adaptation Agenda. COP 28, scheduled for late 2023 in Dubai, will focus on the Global Stocktake to assess progress towards Paris Agreement goals and enhance climate ambition.
