What is Whose Body? A Lord Peter Wimsey Novel about?

This document is the beginning of the novel "Whose Body?" by Dorothy L. Sayers. It introduces Lord Peter Wimsey, who is on his way to an auction but returns home to take a phone call from his mother, the Dowager Duchess. She tells him about Mr. Thipps, a local architect, who found a naked dead body with only a pair of pince-nez glasses in his bathtub that morning. Intrigued, Lord Peter decides to go to Battersea to investigate instead of attending the auction, sending his valet Bunter in his place.
