What is Image Fusion with Wavelet and Curvelet about?

The document presents a method for fusing medical images using wavelet and curvelet transforms. It discusses how wavelet fusion has limitations for images with curved shapes. The proposed method applies a curvelet transform to MR and CT images before fusing them. The curvelet transform represents images as curved lines at multiple scales and orientations using ridgelet transforms applied in overlapping image tiles. This allows it to better preserve curved structures compared to wavelets. The authors conclud
