This article analyzes how Swedish teenagers use selfies on social media to represent themselves in gendered ways. Through focus groups with 41 students aged 13-14, the author found that selfies reinforce gender stereotypes. Boys tended to adopt a "stoneface" expression looking cool for the camera, while girls used a "duckface" pose showing great awareness of the camera.
