This study evaluates the long-term safety and efficacy of scleral contact lenses in patients with keratoconus, finding that they significantly improve visual acuity while maintaining a low incidence of adverse events. Out of 157 eyes studied, physiological adverse events occurred in 9.6% of cases, with lens-related issues affecting over half of the subjects. Overall, the results support the use of scleral lenses as a safe and effective option for visual rehabilitation in keratoconus patients.
