What is Real Integrals about?

This document describes four types of real integrals and how to evaluate them using complex analysis and contour integration. I. Integrals of the form P.V._∞−∞ p(x)/q(x) dx where p and q are polynomials and q has no zeros. These are evaluated by considering the complex function f(z)=p(z)/q(z) and integrating it along a contour γ that encloses the poles in the upper half-plane. II. Integrals of the form P.V._∞−∞ f(x)sin(x) dx or f(x)cos(x) dx where f has no singularities on the real axis.
