What is Overview of Sumerian Architecture about?

Sumerian architecture consisted of mud-brick buildings that deteriorated quickly, causing cities to be constantly rebuilt and raised above the surrounding plains. Sumerians developed techniques like buttresses, recesses, and barrel nails in temples and palaces, and constructed impressive ziggurats that supported temples. These elaborate structures remained hidden for millennia until 19th century archaeologists uncovered Sumerian artifacts and scholars deciphered their language from cuneiform scripts.
