What is Optimal Coverage Control of Multi-robot Systems about?
Optimal coverage control of multi-robot systems ### 6.1 Problem formulation Consider a convex d-dimensional set Q ∈ R d to be covered by N robots which have integrator dynamics: where x i ∈ Q denotes the position of i-th robot, and u i is the control input. We define the density function, or referred to sensory function, as a measure of information importance or probability in the corresponding area with φ : Q → R + (note that φ is a strictly positive value). A point with a density value indicates the importance of quantity to measure at that point. The problem considered in this chapter is to find the best locations of N robots in Q according to a given density function φ(q). The following assumption needs to be imposed.
