Mechanical Properties of SCM415H Friction Welds by Lydia is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study evaluated the mechanical properties and microstructure of steel alloy SCM415H joined using friction welding for application in rear axle shafts of vehicles. Two friction welding pressures of 2.5 MPa and 6 MPa were applied. Mechanical tests including hardness, tensile, torque and ultrasonic tests were conducted. The results showed that higher welding pressure of 6 MPa produced better joint quality. The hardness at the weld connection was 390 HV. Higher pressure also increased the strength at the w
