Finite Element Analysis of Cymbal Piezoelectric Transducers For Harvesting Energy From Asphalt Pavement by Soumyajit Paul is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This paper discusses the design and finite element analysis of Cymbal piezoelectric transducers for harvesting energy from asphalt pavement. The study finds that while the potential electric energy harvested increases with the diameter of the Cymbal, efficiency decreases with size, suggesting a 32 mm diameter as optimal. The proposed design can generate approximately 97.33 V and store 0.06 J of electric energy, with a maximum output power of about 1.2 mW at a vehicle load frequency of 20 Hz.
