This dissertation presents a systematic revision of Passiflora section Dysosmia. The author conducted extensive morphological studies and statistical analyses that revealed three species lineages within the section. Intensive nomenclatural research was performed to clarify the taxonomy. Molecular approaches were explored but not successful. Climatic and soil data were used to delimit taxa at the species rank. The revision recognizes 31 species and five varieties in the section.
