## Abstract The need for disaster response management in an area gives full attention to the government to issue regulations and policies on the arrangement of land use and buildings against disasters. Indonesia, whose territory is surrounded by water, requires handling, especially for coastal areas that are at risk of potensial disasters. In general,the coastal area is the place for fishermen to live, which gives the spatial character of the area in the arrangement of a building model and its environment. The need for a place to live forms a group of settlements that make the coastal area dense and land less. The magnitude of the influence of the sea on the their livelihoods as fishermen forces them to settle in the area. The purpose of this study is to analyze the spatial planning model for the coastal area by looking at the sustability of the building layout and environment planning for disaster preparedness and then developing the right model for structuring buildings and their environmental in coastal areas in Majene district.
