A CT scan of the lumbar spine was performed on Mark Cecil Griffiths Velarde on June 25, 2013. The scan showed a normally aligned spine with well-preserved vertebrae, intervertebral spaces, and joints. A spina bifida occulta was observed at the L5 level, but no fractures, tumors, or other abnormalities were present. The diagnostic impression was that the CT scan showed a spina bifida occulta at L5.
