About this document

Upright Piano Damper Regulation Guide by Natalija is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Regulating upright piano dampers requires adjusting their depth and lift. [1] The damper depth is set by inserting a wedge between the damper rail and frame until 1/3-1/2 of dampers start lifting, then individually bending damper wires until an equal small amount of deflection occurs in each. [2] The lift is set by fine-tuning the dampers so they all barely lift at the same point when the wedge is reinserted. [3] Individual spoon bending then adjusts each damper to lift when the corresponding hammer touches
