What is MATLAB JPEG Encoding and Decoding about?

This document contains code for encoding and decoding JPEG images using MATLAB. The encoding code takes an input image, x, and optional compression parameter. It pads the image, divides it into 8x8 blocks, applies DCT, quantization, zigzag ordering and runlength encoding. Huffman coding is then used to compress the data. For decoding, the Huffman codes are used to decompress the data which is then runlength decoded, inverse quantized and inverse DCT is applied to reconstruct the image.
