Can I read Improving Tactile Sensing for Robotic Grasping on EtoBox?

Improving Tactile Sensing for Robotic Grasping by Qian Wan is a nonfiction available to read on EtoBox.

What is Improving Tactile Sensing for Robotic Grasping about?

Enabling robots to execute reliable grasping and manipulation tasks will significantlyexpand the activities robots can perform. Some information that is crucial forguaranteeing grasp stability can only be obtained through tactile sensing and inaccessibleby other sensing modalities. Examples include contact forces, vibration, sliponset, texture, and object mass distribution. While an increasing number of commercialand research robotic hands have embedded tactile sensors, the understanding ofthe behavior and limitation of tactile sensing has been limited and theoretical. In thisthesis, we conducted one of the first large trial grasping experiments. We observedthat tactile sensor signals may internalize a combination of uncertainties and errorsin the task and throughout the robotic system, therefore exhibiting variations in thesignals that are not easily separable and surmountable.
