This pilot study investigates the feasibility of downfield proton magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (DF-MRSI) at 3 Tesla for evaluating tumor recurrence in glioblastoma patients. The study involved seven patients, where DF-MRSI successfully distinguished between recurrent tumors and treatment effects based on amide metabolite levels. Results indicated that amide levels were significantly higher in recurrent tumor regions compared to both normal brain and treatment effect regions.
