About this document
Hydrocarbon Fingerprinting in Niger Delta by Sladjana Teslić is a document available to read on EtoBox.
The document analyzes hydrocarbon fingerprints of crude oils from two oil fields, Umutu and Bomu, in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. Whole oil gas chromatography was performed on 7 crude oil samples collected from the fields. The analyses showed distributions of normal alkanes from n-C8 to n-C40 with no low molecular weight hydrocarbons due to evaporative loss. Various hydrocarbon ratios were used to deduce the organic matter source, thermal maturity, depositional environment, and extent of biodegradatio
