About this document
Kidney Function and Urine Concentration by avian_rose is a document available to read on EtoBox.
The urinary system consists of the kidneys, ureters, urinary bladder, and urethra. The kidneys filter the blood to produce urine, removing waste and excess water. Urine flows from the kidneys to the bladder through the ureters for storage, then exits through the urethra. The kidneys can sustain damage while still maintaining homeostasis, as long as about 1/3 of one kidney remains functional. Complete kidney failure results in death without medical treatment.
