What is Deaf Frog about?

Two frogs fell into a deep pit and the other frogs nearby told them there was no hope of escape. Despite this, the frogs tried to jump out. One frog gave up and died, but the other continued jumping harder until it finally escaped. When it got out, the other frogs were surprised and said they had been telling it to give up. The escaped frog explained that it was deaf and thought they had been encouraging it the whole time.
