What is MORAN vs MOCN in 5G RAN Sharing about?

RAN sharing allows multiple mobile network operators to share the same radio access network infrastructure. There are two main types of RAN sharing defined in 3GPP: Multi-Operator Core Network (MOCN) and Multi-Operator Radio Access Network (MORAN). MOCN allows independent core networks but shared radio access, while MORAN provides separate core networks and radio access networks that are shared. Proper baseband unit configuration is required depending on the type of RAN sharing, with options including co-lo
