This document presents a study of the formation of volcanosedimentary basins in western Peru during the Late Cretaceous. The authors provide U-Pb ages and Hf isotopic data from zircons in volcanic and intrusive rocks within the basins. The zircon ages range from 67.89±0.18 Ma to 69.71±0.18 Ma, indicating basin subsidence, volcanism, and plutonism occurred closely in space and time during the Late Cretaceous.
