What is Fuenteovejuna: A Tale of Rebellion about?

The play Fuenteovejuna by Félix Lope de Vega is about the commander of Fuenteovejuna, who was cruel and abused the women of the village. When he tried to assault Laurencia, Frondoso defended her and they fell in love. Later, when the commander interrupted their secret wedding and arrested Frondoso, Laurencia incited the village to kill the commander. When the judge and the king asked who did it, the entire village responded "Fuenteovejuna."
