What is Aeronautical Satellite Communication Systems about?

The document discusses wireless communications technologies for use on commercial aircraft, including UMTS, Bluetooth, and IEEE 802.11b wireless LAN. It proposes an architecture with multiple wireless access segments in the aircraft cabin connected to satellite and terrestrial networks via a service integrator. The service integrator would allow transportation of services over satellite links and address issues like limited bandwidth, asymmetric data rates, and dynamic traffic demands between services.
