This study examined the relationship between hockey skating speed and selected performance measures in 30 competitive hockey players. Players performed tests of skating speed, sprinting speed, jumping ability, strength, flexibility, and balance. Electromyography was also used to measure muscle activation in the thighs during maximum skating speeds, stopping, turning and agility drills in 12 players.
